Courtney and I met in February of 2018 through our employer at the time. Whenever I was able to work with her it was a great day and I would spew the corny pickup lines and say whatever I could to get a smile from her (or when I was really lucky, a laugh). We continued this over the next year until one day I was able to convince her to give me her phone number. We each have a son from a previous relationship, so we would talk about them a lot, among other things, until I finally worked up the courage to ask her and her son to visit our local aquarium with me and my son. To my surprise she agreed (believe me when I say that she’s way out of my league!). It went well and I eventually asked her on a date, just the two of us. I felt that it was an awesome ‘first’ date and apparently, she agreed, because we went out again and again after that, with and without the kids. We eventually moved in together and I must say that having a couple of boys with a 2 year age difference and being able to blend our families together has been a blessing and a struggle to say the least, but we’ve all found a way to make it work.
